Rev. Beth Brown Shugart invites you to read The Dearly Beloved by Cara Wall and then join her on Monday, March 4th, for a discussion of the book. In her debut novel, more than 10 years in the making, author Cara Wall follows four characters over approximately a decade, granting them equal voice as they attend college, get married, find their callings, and weather tragedies. The resulting book is wise, nuanced, restrained, and — perhaps most radically — kind. Wall’s approach is quiet and intellectual, yet of an overwhelming grace. We will meet on Monday, March 4th, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. in room F145, located on the 1st floor of the Sheldon Family Life Center to discuss the book. That gives you plenty of time to read the book.
