Bible Study of the Gospel of Luke
Tue, May 16th 10am - 11:30am
Room F-145, Sheldon Family Life Center
Duluth First United Methodist Church 3208 Duluth Hwy 120 Duluth, GA 30096

A six-week study of the Gospel of Luke, led by Pete Fleming, will begin on Tuesday, April 25th. This study will meet Tuesday mornings through June 6th (there is no class meeting on May 9th) at 10 to 11:30 a.m. in room F145, located on the 1st floor of the Sheldon Family Life Center. Pete has led many studies of Luke over the past 40 years. The 3rd Gospel provides a unique view of the ministry of Jesus. Luke mentions prayer, women, the Holy Spirit, and the poor more than any other gospel. The Good Samaritan and several other parables appear only in Luke. The Infancy Narrative in Chapters 1 and 2 is a classic in ancient story telling. The Greek used in Luke is said to be the finest in all the New Testament. All are invited to join us as we explore the authorship, timing, possible location, meaning, and unique nature of this Gospel and its importance to the church today. No books are required and we will use the Gospel as our primary source, any translation you prefer. Every class time will allow for individual input and group discussion. Please contact Tracy Brinker by e-mail at tbrinker@duluthumc.org or at 770-476-3776 to register for this study.
