A new, Thursday morning Bible study, open to everyone and based on the book The Jesus I Never Knew by Philip Yancey, will begin on August 18th, meeting in room F-145 from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. The 14-week study will continue through November 17th. Led by Jenny Masterson, the discussion and study will about Philip Yancey’s classic, award winning Christian Book of the Year. The author uses movie clips, church history and existing views of Jesus compared directly to the Biblical text to challenge us into seeing and experiencing Jesus in a new, deeper way. The book is described as a “groundbreaking, disturbing and exhilarating look at the Jesus described in the Gospels…. in some ways more comforting; in some ways more terrifying.” Terrifying?
