United Methodist Committee on Relief Information Meeting
Thu, Oct 7th 7pm - 8pm
Fellwoship Hall
Duluth First United Methodist Church 3208 Duluth Hwy 120 Duluth, GA 30096

The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) has supported people impacted by disasters around the world. From hurricanes affecting Louisiana, flooding in Tennessee, to the earthquake that recently hit Haiti, and humanitarian relief in Afghanistan, UMCOR has provided support for the challenging recovery from these kinds of disasters. Join us on Thursday, October 7th, at 7 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall as guest speaker Dr. Stephen Redmond tells us about UMCOR’s incredible work and how we can help. Dr. Redmond, a graduate of the Candler School of Theology and Perkins School of Theology, manages the North Georgia Conference Disaster Response Warehouse located in East Point. The urgent need right now is Cleaning Kits for flood victims. Our church has the opportunity to help by donating essential items needed for the clean-up of flood-affected areas. A Cleaning Kit and individual items needed for each kit will be on display on the United Methodist Women’s table, along copies of the list of needed items. You can donate a complete kit of just a few of the needed items.
