Have you ever thought about hiking the Appalachian Trail? Join Rev. C. Kay Fuino on Sunday evenings, beginning January 3rd, from 5:30 to 7 p.m., for a study of Witness: Learning to Share Your Christian Faith by Ron Crandall. On this 25-week journey – you choose in-person or online – you will be challenged to discover who you really are, what you believe, and what really matters in your life. Crandall writes, “We’re all witnesses to something or someone. As Christians we’re Christ’s witnesses. It’s our identity, not merely something we do or don’t do. Every year more than four million hikers of all ages and degrees of fitness take time to explore some part of the Appalachian Trail. This escape to fresh air, magnificent vistas, and nature’s hidden wonders beckons to people bogged down in the hectic pace and high-tech pressures of modern living. The entire trail is 2,160 miles of snaking switchbacks and mountainous undulations.” Witness guides you in learning more about your faith and speaking invitationally with others about beliefs. It is journey where you don’t really have to hike the real trail to discover about God and God’s purpose for all of creation, and also a journey about being God’s children and disciples of Jesus Christ. Learn more about what it means to be a Christian witness by “hiking” along five trails. The book cost is $12 and can be ordered at Amazon.com. Join us for a Zoom orientation session on Sunday, December 20th, at 6 p.m. for more information. Please register by Tuesday, December 22nd, by contacting Tracy Brinker by e-mail at tbrinker@duluthumc.org or calling 770-476-3776. Let her know whether you will attend in-person or online via Zoom, and if you would like her to order a book.
