United Methodist Women:

Celebrating Over 140 Years in Mission

The Methodist Women's Ministry is an organized unit of United Methodist Women and a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church. The Methodist Women's ministry offers short term Bible studies, book discussions, retreats, and various programs. They also participate in missions both locally and internationally. SPECIAL EVENTS/PROGRAMS

United Methodist Women’s Amazing Women Event: March 10th

The United Methodist Women invite all women to join us for an evening of fun, food and fellowship at our annual Amazing Women event on Saturday, March 10th, at 6:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Enjoy a delicious dinner and amazing entertainment along with your church friends and neighbors. We ask for a $6 per person donation at the door to cover the cost of the meal.

Our program this year will be a visit from the infamous Jezebel of Bible fame. You can read her story in 1 Kings 16:29-33; 18:1-4; 21:1-16; 2 Kings 9:30-37. Of all the bad girls of the Bible, Jezebel may very well be the “baddest”! We are honored to have Dee Brinson Collier from Ocala, Florida, return to bring Jezebel to life for us. Dee does amazing characterizations of many historical figures, including Cori ten Boom, Martha Washington and Sacajawea. So we are definitely in for a treat.

Our Love offering will be going to Fugees Family, a ministry which helps child survivors of war rebuild their lives one step at a time, giving them the structure and support they need through soccer and academics.

Sign-up sheets are in the Gathering Room and outside Hinton Hall. Please let us know you are joining us so our chefs are prepared. Our meal will include Watergate salad, pork loin with Jezebel sauce, sweet potatoes, green beans, homemade rolls, and a variety of trifles for dessert. (After all, Jezebel was trifling sort of gal!) This annual event is not to be missed. Please sign up TODAY! For additional information, please contact Terrie Adkins by e-mail at ttadkins@sprynet.com or call 770-476-7981.
