Support for families is an important ministry at Duluth First United Methodist Church. Parenting classes with childcare provided offer help and support to families. Activities for the family to do together are also a part of the church calendar.
A variety of events are offered for Christian fellowship for all ages – singles, couples and families. Movie night, dinners, Trunk or Treat, and Christmas Caroling are just a few examples of the fellowship events at Duluth First United Methodist Church.

Youth-Led Worship and Recognition of Graduates: Sunday, May 19th
Please join us on Sunday, May 19th, for Youth-Led Worship in all three worship services (8:30 a.m. Traditional, 11:00 a.m. Traditional, and 11:00 a.m. Contemporary). It is going to be a great morning as we get to hear messages from our students as they lead us in various aspects of our worship services.
We will also be recognizing our graduates of 2024 at all three worship services on May 19th. Congratulations to all the graduates and their families!
Save the Date: Sunday Fun Day is Sunday, May 19th
Everyone is invited to join us on Sunday, May 19th, for Sunday Fun Day! This event, which is a whole lot of fun for all ages, will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. in the church’s front parking lot. Invite your family, friends, and neighbors as we will have food, a DJ, inflatables, games, a cakewalk, and a petting zoo!

Baked goods can include cupcakes, cakes, pies, muffins, cookies, brownies, etc. Please indicate with a note card if the baked good contains a specific allergen. Also, please note if a product is gluten-free. Please bring the baked goods to the Dorothy L. Rainey Fellowship Hall kitchen between 9:00 a.m. and noon on Sunday, May 19th.
Register Now for “Scuba: Diving Into Friendship with God”
Mark your calendars and save the date for “Scuba: Diving Into Friendship with God” – this summer’s Vacation Bible School at Duluth First UMC! It will be held Monday, June 24th, through Friday, June 28th, from 9 a.m. to noon each day. “Scuba: Diving Into Friendship with God” is for kids going into pre-Kindergarten (age 4 as of September 1st) through rising 6th graders. Each day participants will participate in Bible story time, sing songs, play games, make crafts, and eat snacks.
Registration is underway, and the cost is $30 per child with a maximum of $70 per family. In addition to registering participants, we are also registering adult and youth volunteers. We especially need shepherds who are adult volunteers in charge of a group of 6-10 kids. Shepherds do not need to prepare anything in advance. They lead their group to the various activities where other volunteers are in charge. If you would like to help but are only available one or two days that week, you can put your available dates on your registration. We often need substitute shepherds. Also, the nursery is available for the children of volunteers if you have a child who is not old enough to be a participant.
