Worship Services

Sunday, November 26th:

Twenty-Fifth Sunday after Pentecost;

9:30 a.m.

  • Preacher: Rev. David Burchett, Director of Youth Ministries
  • Sermon: "Transformed"
  • Scripture: Romans 12:1-2 (New Revised Standard Version Bible)
  • Our contemporary worship service, held in Hinton Hall in the Family Life Center, allows people of all ages to experience worship and meaningful teaching in a personal, relevant format. Music in our contemporary service, led by a dynamic praise team comprised of vocalists and instrumentalists, is praise-and-worship oriented, featuring a blend of contemporary and traditional music. Multimedia presentations are used to enhance the worship experience. The service is held in an intimate, family setting with a typical length of 1 hour.

    Come as you are. You'll find all kinds of folks at Duluth First United Methodist Church, and a broad range of attire from moderately dressy to completely casual. All are welcome.

    After the contemporary worship service, join one of our 11:00 a.m. Sunday School classes for further discussion and enriched fellowship.

    Children, newborn through two years of age, are eligible for group care in the Duluth First United Methodist Church nursery during the 9:30 & 11:00 a.m. worship services.

    Advent in Contemporary Worship

    Sundays, December 3rd - 31st

    Contemporary Worship will move to the 11 o’clock hour during the month of December. Our theme for Advent in Contemporary Worship this year is the Advent Wreath. Each week we will focus on an aspect of the candles that form the wreath: Hope, Love, Joy, Peace and Christ. Watch as the worship space grows and changes to include the various elements of preparing for the arrival of the Christ Child. Enjoy the music and other treats that will be available as we move purposely toward that special service on Sunday, December 24th, the evening of the birth.

    Our Christmas Eve Communion service will be at the 11 o’clock hour in Hinton Hall as a service of Cookies and Carols. You are invited to come and enjoy the time with your families and friends as we celebrate during December preparing for the birth of the Savior.
