About Us

Advent

Welcome to Advent, the beginning of the Christian year. We begin our Christian year with the advent of the Christ’s birth, Christ the gift to the world, our savior and God’s Son. As the weeks pass we hope you will notice signs of the Christmas season around you and think about what type of gifts we receive and give to celebrate our life in Christ and Christ in us.

Enjoy this series of Advent Devotions written by a variety of people of faith based upon the lectionary calendar and our study of Christmas Gifts That Won’t Break by James W. Moore for this year. They are intended to walk you through the season with Hope, Love, Joy and Peace to arrive at Christmas and receive the gift of Christ.

Blessings and joy.

Rev. C. Kay Fuino

Advent All Together Class Through Sunday, December 24th

Sunday, December 3rd, through Sunday, December 24th; 9:30 am, Hinton Hall

Beginning with December 3rd, the first Sunday of Advent, and continuing to Sunday December 24th, Rev. C. Kay Fuino will lead an Advent Study in Hinton Hall during the 9:30 worship hour. The study will be based on James Moore’s Christmas Gifts That Won’t Break. This study is based on the candles of the Advent Wreath and the unbreakable gift of Christ.

It is not necessary to sign up for the study, however if you would like a participant book which included devotions and stories, please call Tracy Brinker at the church at 770-476-3776 and she will order the books. The cost of the participant guide is $15.00.

Advent in Contemporary Worship

Sundays, December 3rd through December 31st; 11 am, Hinton Hall

Contemporary Worship will move to the 11 o’clock hour during the month of December. Our theme for Advent in Contemporary Worship this year is the Advent Wreath. Each week we will focus on an aspect of the candles that form the wreath: Hope, Love, Joy, Peace and Christ. Watch as the worship space grows and changes to include the various elements of preparing for the arrival of the Christ Child. Enjoy the music and other treats that will be available as we move purposely toward that special service on Sunday, December 24th, the evening of the birth.

Our Christmas Eve Communion service will be at the 11 o’clock hour in Hinton Hall as a service of Cookies and Carols. You are invited to come and enjoy the time with your families and friends as we celebrate during December preparing for the birth of the Savior.
